1.The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel,is a heritage, five-star, luxury hotel built in the Saracenic Revival style in the Colaba Region of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India situated next to the Gateway Of India.
2.The original building of the hotel was commissioned by Tata.Its doors opened to guests on 16 December 1903.
3.JAMSETJI TATA the Founder of Tata, decided to build the hotel after he was refused entry to one of the city's grand hotels of the time, Watson's Hotel,as it was restricted to "whites only".

4.On November 26,2008, 10 young men in an inflatable dinghy came ashore in Mumbai,India,and slipped into the city undetected.They had been sent by Lashkar-e-Taiba,a Pakistani-based terrorist group.Armed with assault rifles,grenades and improvised explosive devices,they quickly fanned out across the city.
